Yellow & Green Garden Theme Wedding Ideas
April 25, 2009
Are you planning a Garden Theme wedding for a Spring wedding or a Summer wedding? If you are considering using yellow and green as your wedding colors, here is an inspiration board with some great ideas to get you started.
There are a wide range of yellow flowers that are usually available in the Spring and Summer including yellow roses, lilies, tulips and of course yellow daffodils. If you want the brightest, vibrant yellow, go for a yellow gerbera daisy.
The yellow and green “Flowering Flourishes” pocket wedding invitation set is one of my original creations. It includes the invite, an accommodations card, a reception card and an RSVP card with a recipe card on the back. The pocket fold that is pictured is Lemonade Yellow, the mat is Spring Green and the invitations are printed on cream cardstock. The “Flowering Flourishes” design is elegant, yet contemporary with green stems and flourishes and modern style flowers in different shades of yellow with a hint of orange. Pricing and ordering info is available at www.JoyfulHeartDesign.com. Also available are matching Save the Date cards, Wishes for the Bride & Groom cards, Bookmark Favors, Favor Tags, thank you notes and any other wedding stationery you might need.

Out of Town Wedding Guests
April 16, 2009
Here is the Budget-Saving Tip of the week:
If you have a lot of wedding guests coming from out of town and you’d like them to have more information about things to do and see, and places to stay and eat in your town, here’s a great idea to save you tons of money and time…
Go to your local chamber of commerce and ask them to send a brochure or some literature about your town to your guests. Most chambers will be happy to do this and will not charge you a thing, especially if you give them your guests addresses pre-printed on labels. Very easy on your wedding budget!

Dream Wedding at a Dream Price
April 7, 2009
I have a great budget saving tip for you today. Actually it’s a lot of tips! And it comes from a true expert in the wedding business.
Brides magazine editor, Millie Martini Bratten, did an interview with ABC News on how to have a “Dream Wedding at a Dream Price.” She gave tons of great tips. Here are the highlights:
-
Save on decorating expenses by having your reception at a venue that is already decorated and/or furnished or at least partially decorated, like a botanical gardens or a banquet hall that has chandeliers and nice table covers, etc.
You can usually get better rates if you choose an off-peak date. For instance, choose a date other than Saturday that is not in May, June or July, which are the busiest times for wedding professionals.
Tweak the meal. Go with a garden salad rather than a fancy multi-ingredient salad. Serve 3 courses instead of 4.
Let the wedding vendors know what your budget is and what your dream is and ask them how they can help you.
Click here to watch the entire interview.
(There’s a short commercial you’ll have to watch first.)
Enjoy!

March 10, 2009
Don’t worry, Be happy!
Getting married should be one of the highlights of your life, so choose to cherish every moment and make happy memories as you plan for your big day.
When you begin to feel your shoulders or your jaw tightening up or notice that you are driving way too fast or becoming irritated at small mishaps, take a deep breath, then remind yourself that you choose to be happy today.
The first and hardest step to being happy is actually deciding to do so, but here are a few more keys that will help you.
Be grateful.
Eliminate hurry.
Take time to rest and reflect.
Move – (you don’t have to call it exercise, just do something you enjoy doing that gets your body moving!)
Smile!
