Unique Fall Wedding Invitations in Burgundy and Orange
July 31, 2009

Are you looking for unique fall wedding invitations with a modern design…
with something other than the traditional fall leaf or pumpkin icons?
My “Sassy Sunburst” design was created with you in mind. The stylized sunburst is warm and inviting. It is fun, yet formal; bold, yet simple. The squash orange and garnet red sunburst could be used on save the date cards as well as on other wedding accessories, decorations and favors to carry the autumn theme throughout the entire wedding and reception.
At Joyful Heart Design, we give you lots of options to customize and personalize your invitations to make them uniquely yours. For instance, look how different the invitation can look just by changing the color of the pocketfolder.

Pair the invite with a Cranberry Red or Burgundy pocketfolder for a very rich, almost regal look. Add an orange mat (invite backing layer) to accent the names printed in orange text.

The Copper metallic pocketfolder adds a warm glow to the invite. This color combo would go great with a rustic, outdoor theme as well as with a glamorous theme that incorporated lots of shimmery metals, like gold, bronze and copper.
Changing the fonts used can also dramatically change the mood and style of the invitation.

For a more formal, very elegant look, pair the autumn invite with the Champagne metallic pocketfolder, a Tuscany Sun (burnt orange) mat, and a satin burgundy ribbon.

You can also add further customization to the invite by adding embellishments like ribbons, seals, jewels or crystals.
This Sassy Sunburst Pocket Wedding Invitation matches the Autumn Sunburst Save the Date Card design that I blogged about earlier.

New Autumn Sunburst Save the Date Card Design
July 17, 2009
I created this new Autumn Sunburst Save the Date card and I’d like your feedback on it. It is not for sale… yet. I entered it in the Seasonal Save the Date design challenge at minted.com. If it wins or is one of the top designs, then it will be for sale on minted.com.
I used deep jeweltones to give this contemporary card an autumn feel even without the typical fall leaf or pumpkin icons. The stylized sunburst is warm and inviting. It is fun, yet formal; bold, yet simple. The squash orange and garnet red sunburst could be used on the wedding invitations and on other wedding accessories, decorations and favors to carry the autumn theme throughout the entire wedding and reception.
So… if you like it and would like to be able to purchase it, then please go to minted.com and rate it. (5 means you love it!)
While you are at minted.com, take a look at all the awesome designs submitted for the challenge and rate some others as well. (If you only rate one or two cards, then they throw those scores out.)
Also, feel free to leave me a comment either here or on minted.com with your thoughts about my Autumn Sunburst Save the Date card.
My Most Popular Pocket Wedding Invitation
November 15, 2008
After reviewing my wedding invitation sales statistics, I found that one particular invitation in a certain color combo is by far my most popular wedding invitation— the Mod Stripe Pocket Fold Wedding Invitation Ensemble in Tiffany Blue, Cream and Black.

It was no surprise to me that the Tiffany Blue Mod Stripes Pocket Wedding Invitation is my most popular wedding invitation because this particular wedding invitation not only has a very simple, classic, classy design, and is made using my handy, yet elegant pocket style wedding invitation, but it also is made with a very elegant, classy color combination that can be used any time of year, no matter what the season. The Mod Stripe Pocket Fold Wedding Invitation Ensemble in Tiffany Blue, Cream and Black has been used for Winter weddings, Autumn / Fall Weddings, Spring weddings and Summer weddings. The Tiffany Blue color says style, elegance and sophistication.
As with all of my pocketfold wedding invitations, the Tiffany Blue Mod Stripes Pocket Wedding Invitation showcases the main invitation on the left panel. The pocket on the left holds three inserts—usually an Accommodations card, a Reception card and an RSVP card with envelope. The elegant Tiffany Blue and Black stripes grace the top of the main invitation as well as the tops of each insert card.
Many brides elect to include a photo on the Reception card, adding to the keepsake value of the wedding invitation. Another special feature that you will not find in the wedding invitation catalogs is the option to include a recipe card on the back of the RSVP card. The RSVP or response card suggests that your guests write their favorite recipe on the back of the card and send it back to you. This is a great way to start a recipe file. The recipe cards are 3×5 so they fit easily into any recipe file box, or can be stored in plastic sleeves inside a notebook or scrapbook.

Hot Wedding Colors for Fall & Autumn Weddings
August 29, 2008
I finally got my video uploaded. You can watch it below or on youtube.com or blip.tv.
Hot Wedding Colors for Fall & Autumn Weddings Video - Coming Soon!
August 27, 2008
I was hoping to announce the debut of my new video on Hot Wedding Colors for Fall & Autumn Weddings today, but it is taking too long to upload. I am in the process of uploading it to youtube.com, but it is taking a long time to upload.
I have been having trouble with my internet going off. Thankfully, it has been on all day today, but I checked the speed and it is very low despite the fact that it is DSL and is supposed to be high-speed internet. I would switch phttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifroviders, but I don’t have access to a lot of service in this area.
So, I am just going to go to bed and maybe it will have finished uploading in the morning.
In the meantime, you can see samples of some of my Fall & Autumn wedding invitations at my Etsy shop at www.JoyfulHeartDesign.etsy.com.
Dreaming of Cooler Weather
August 15, 2008
Although we haven’t had as many 100+ degree days here in the Lubbock, Texas area, it’s still been really hot! I like Summer, but I am looking forward to the slightly cooler days of autumn.
And working on my new Fall wedding invitation designs has really got me dreaming of Autumn and everything that comes with it: cooler weather, back to school, high school football games, and of course, watching the glorious splendor of the leaves changing from their Summer green to warm shades of yellow, orange, red and maroon.
If you are having a Fall Wedding, and want to incorporate the beautiful warm autumn colors in your wedding, but want something different than the traditional fall designs of leaves, pumpkins, corn, etc., then you are the exact personhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gif I had in mind when I created the following wedding invitations:
Warm rays of “sunshine” burst forth from the corners of the “Sassy Sunbursts” Pocket Fold Wedding Invitation to give a warm welcome to your family and friends.
The “French Fleurs” Pocket Wedding Invitation features one of the hottest wedding color schemes of the season: Green, Orange and Brown.
Butterflies are normally thought of as a Spring or Summer theme, but soft cream and light peach color scheme of this “Lacy Butterflies” Wedding Invitation makes it suitable for a fall wedding as well.
